Abstract
The article describes the journey of Minangkabau as a communal society that maintaining its existence marked by many historical events of the conflict that eventually became the educational values of conflict resolution which can be described in four major events. Firstly, the history of the birth of Minangkabau itself. Secondly, the formation of harmony in Minangkabau. Thirdly, the founding of the Pagaruyung Kingdom. Fourthly, period of the Padri war. On the other hand, deny the general views about the Nusantara especially Minangkabau first before the arrival of the Dutch had sources of conflict, then conflicted and was able to resolve the conflict on their own. Second, Minangkabau later named West Sumatra not colonized for 350 years by the Dutch.
