Abstract
This study identifies and describes habituation practices implemented at TK Negeri Kisol to foster polite character in six-year-old children. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews with three teachers, and document analysis conducted in April 2025. Findings reveal that habituation practices include greeting politely, expressing gratitude, demonstrating courteous mealtime behavior, speaking politely, requesting permission, showing care, and acting honestly. Implementation steps involve determining habituation activities, initiating through teacher modeling, practicing consistently, avoiding demeaning reprimands, providing reminders, and offering appreciation. Challenges encountered include lack of school-home continuity, variations in children's comprehension levels, difficulties guiding irregularly attending children, and demands for teacher patience and consistency. The study demonstrates that systematic habituation supported by Standard Operating Procedures effectively develops polite character in early childhood when implemented with commitment and structured guidance.
