Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the students’ difficulties in learning English during online learning. The participants were the students of ELT Program at Universitas Brawijaya amid COVID-19. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Two instruments were utilized to answer the research questions, those are a 4-Likert scale questionnaire and a list of open-ended questions. The findings of this study are beneficial in the current condition, that is the post- pandemic era, in which blended learning is applied. The major difficulty that students face in this study comes from the environment. It means that lecturers and parents need to consider their role to help students have better online learning. Some students struggle to develop their skills and abilities, so the lecture shall discuss these issues with students who are struggling to find solutions.
