Abstract
The Worldwide Interoperability forMicrowave Access (WiMAX) has drawn tremendous interest from researchers as it is a very promising wireless access technology. Newly developed protocols need to be tested, evaluated and readjusted before becoming operative. In this paper, we present new WiMAX model for SimulX simulator. The originality of this module is the implementation of the management architecture and the signaling exchanges defned by the WiMAX technology. As SimulX is well suited for the simulation of next genera- tion wireless networks, the proposed module will enable the evaluation of WiMAX as a part of these networks. We val- idate the proposed module based on results of simulation tests, which we compare with theoretical evaluation of the technology.
