Abstract

Peer to Peer (P2P) applications are already very popular in the wired internet environment. They can prove advantageous in vehicular ad-hoc networks as well. However existing P2P applications are not well suited for wireless ad-hoc networks. Therefore it is crucial to better understand the limitations of P2P applications in wireless ad-hoc environment, investigating the reasons for their non optimal performance. With this study we attempt to assess the underlying flaws with P2P applications in ad-hoc networks. In order to do so we present the results obtained with our experimental campaign for both static and mobile cases.
