Abstract

Live testbeds present an opportunity to verify the integration and performance of the different elements of service delivery platforms and next generation networks. Testbeds such as Urban Netspot are a necessary step in the evolution of today's service providers networks to enable the provision of next generation services by current fixed and mobile operators. This paper describes the architecture of a metropolitan area network based on WLAN technologies to provide terminal mobility and location awareness.
