Abstract
In cognitive radio systems, interference between primary users and secondary users greatly affects the system performance, which is an issue worth studying. Recently, interference alignment (IA) has been proposed as an effective method to deal with the interference among multiple users. In this paper, we apply distributed interference alignment to a cognitive relay network (CRN) and study the outage performance for the secondary system. Simulation results show that for cognitive relay networks, interference alignment can greatly improve the outage performance of the secondary system, especially in the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) condition, which demonstrates that IA is a promising solution to interference avoidance in cognitive relay networks.
