Abstract
The skin inspection result provides helpful skin health information for further skin analysis. In tradition, the skin status examination is performed by a skin probe, which is operated by a trained professional, contact the skin to obtain the necessary information. The skin probes are expensive, the examination costs much time and money, and the reused probes also cause a health problem. In this paper, a skin inspection imaging system is developed on an Android device. A series of skin images is acquired by a conventional digital camera connecting to the Android device, and then pre-processes these images to extract the image features to classify the skin conditions. The proposed system is portable and it provides a cheaper solution to detect the skin status.
