Abstract

In this paper, the hard-in-the-loop(HIL) simulation system which consists of radio channel emulator and GSM for Railway (GSM-R) system is established. According to the network planning measurement specification of GSM-R, the simulation measurement parameters are chosen. The communication quality is measured under different channel conditions (different coverage level, co-channel interference and mobile speed). Based on the HIL simulation measurement, the impact of coverage level, co-channel interference and mobile speed on the communication quality of GSM-R is studied. The measurement results show that coverage level has only a little effect on the communication quality, while the rise of mobile speed and co-channel interference can worsen the communication quality of GSM-R system.
