Abstract

Coordinated multipoint transmission/reception (CoMP) is widely used to increase the cell-edge user performance in 3GPP LTE and its related workgroups. However, the standardization of CoMP has been freezed in around 2009 and researches on CoMP HARQ process have not come to any conclusions. In this paper, we studied the Single-User (SU) CoMP downlink Hybrid-ARQ (HARQ) process in non-coherent CoMP mode, and designed a SINR based dynamic retransmission link selection scheme that the retransmission packet will be transmitted using the best transmission link, which is proved can increase the target user (commonly the cell edge user) throughput in given scenario. Simulation results show that our new method of CoMP-HARQ can effectively reduce retransmission times and increase cell-edge user throughput. Conclusions have been given under our Matlab based LTE system level simulator.
