Abstract
We investigate the outage performance of multi-antenna cognitive wireless relay networks where source nodes transmit information to their destinations via two hops facilitated by intermediate cognitive nodes able to acquire spectrum holes. In particular, we conduct an outage performance analysis for a decode-and-forward (DF) relaying system under three scenarios which are depending on the spectrum acquisition capability of cognitive relay nodes in each cluster. A closed-form expression of the outage probability is derived under Rayleigh fading channels for all signal to noise ratio (SNR) regimes. It is showed that by using multiple antennas into such networks the outage performance improves significantly.
