Abstract

Wireless mesh networks are playing a major role in telecommunications in present days. Routing in distributed wireless mesh networks is a challenging issue due to the dynamic channel condition and the absence of infrastructures. In this paper, a new routing method is introduced which suggests how traffic can be distributed over multiple available paths to minimize end-to-end transmission delay. By applying queueing analysis on the intermediate nodes over the routes, an analytical model is proposed to calculate such transmission delay over multiple hops. Simulation is carried out to support the analytical results.
