Abstract

IEEE 802.16 based WiMAX is fast emerging as a representative last-mile broadband wireless access technology. In this paper, a novel uplink performance analysis model focusing on the VoIP services in TDD-OFDMA based WiMAX network is proposed. Based on the analysis model, the effect of scheduling and resource allocation on the VoIP performance is discussed. The numerical results show that the packet aggregation in MAC layer and a reasonable polling interval both can improve the VoIP capacity in WiMAX network.
