Abstract

Single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA), which combines single carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization, is a promising transmission technique in 3GPP LTE [1]. In this paper, for SC-FDMA signals with localized sub-carrier mapping scheme, the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) distribution is analyzed and simulated. It is shown that different modulation schemes will lead to different PAPR of LFDMA signals. In this case, the modulation scheme should be selected carefully so as to make a better tradeoff among PAPR, system performance and spectrum efficiency.
