Abstract

The term "community network" has been used in different meanings by the representatives of different disciplines involved. Nevertheless, multidisciplinary research may need more open theoretical approaches. This paper brings together the several "worlds", first of all sociologists and communication specialists, by proposing a socio-technical relational framework. It consists of four dimensions: community, infrastructure, services and governance. These four components are addressed in detail.
