Abstract

Effects of direct current (dc) bias-drifting on the carrier suppressed double sideband (CS-DSB) and single sideband (SSB) radio on fiber (RoF) link are theoretical investigated. Power variation of targeted harmonic signal and harmonic suppression are calculated and evaluated. The theoretical results show that the degradation of harmonic suppression is evident and power variation is negligible in CS-DSB RoF link while power variation is visible and harmonic suppression is stable in SSB RoF link on account for bias-drifting. The obtained results can provide important assistance for qualitative and quantitative analysis for fiber-optic microwave and millimeter-wave link application and system design.
