Abstract

This paper proposes a new solution to interactive service over digital broadcast and mobile converged networks (DBMC), which is to broaden the potential advantages of the DBMC network. In particular, two contributions are included: 1) improvement on ESG by adding a new fragment which specifies the metadata of interaction to facilitate the delivery of interactive services; 2) a new Interactive Server to provide the interaction functions between the service platform and the end users. The effectiveness of the proposed solution is illustrated and validated by a typical interactive service namely, e-ballot.
