Abstract

To better evaluate handover decision algorithms, an analytical model which considers dynamic network conditions and mobile user’s requirements is proposed. In this model,Wrong Handover Probability and Handover Probability are adopted as main evaluation criteria. Two bandwidth based handover algorithms are studied by applying this model. By theoretical analysis and simulation we demonstrate that the model provides an effective method to evaluate and improve handover decision algorithm.
