Abstract

Every existing active congestion control mechanism (ACC) dealt with congestion only by dropping packets and it could not adapt the current network any longer. This paper put forward a new ACC algorithm in which the key congestion control parameters would be modified by the active congestion control codes embedded in active routers. The simulations proved that this new algorithm could control congestion well and achieve high efficiency, good fairness and rare packet dropping.
