Abstract

In this paper, a new utility-based uplink scheduling scheme for multiple services in CDMA systems is proposed. The scheduling criterion is to maximize the system utility which is the weighted sum of all user utilities. The weights of the users reflect their QoS levels and fairness requirements. The constraint conditions of the variables in the system utility function are obtained by the uplink transmission restrictions of all users in a CDMA system. A low-complexity approximate algorithm is proposed to solve the optimization problem which is actually equivalent to a 0-1 programming problem. The simulation results show that this algorithm has acceptable performance.
