Abstract
In this paper we use an implementation of an access selection architecture, whose main goal is to foster the paradigm over heterogeneous wireless environments, cornerstone of the Mobility Concepts for IMT-Advanced (Mobilia) project, to enhance quality of service, by means of an integration with the IEEE 802.11e architecture. We provide an upper bound of the performance which might be achieved with this extension and afterwards, using a fully experimental approach, we show the enhancements which can be obtained by dynamically configuring the operational parameters of the subjacent MAC mechanisms.
