Abstract

Due to the heavy increase of network traffic caused by multimedia data, compression and transmission of medical image for telemedicine applications have made the stringent demand on the quality of the reconstructed signal. In this paper, we are comparing different types of image compression techniques using CVIP tools by considering the values of Compression Ratio (CR), Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Root Mean Square (RMS) error.
