    Abstract

    In this work, we propose a joint optimization of power allocation and phase shift for downlink RIS-aided cellular networks. In particular, the total network throughput was maximized under power consumption and QoS constraints. To tackle this problem, we consider power allocation procedure to solve the convex problem of power control coefficients optimization and Block Coordinate Descent (BCD)-based procedure to solve non-convex problem of RIS phase shift optimization. The numerical results are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in terms of enhancing the coverage and the total network throughput.
