Abstract

Recently, tremendous progress has been made in the research on space information networks, which also inspires the development of general or dedicated emulation systems. As an important part in emulation of the space information networks, the research on traffic generation system is still in the preliminary stage. In view of the insufficient research in this area, a multi-service traffic generation system dedicated for emulation of space information networks is proposed in this paper, which has the characteristics of scale and flexibility. The system is designed based on software-defined networking technology to decouple the traffic generation part from the traffic transmission part, avoiding the complicated configuration problems in emulation of large scale space information networks. At the same time, the traffic generation part of the system uses a variety of business models, which is helpful for the research in future space information networks.
