Abstract
With the development of Internet, data centers may consist of tens of thousands of servers, and in many applications, servers in data centers need to communicate with each others. The limited bandwidth of these interior communications is becoming the main bottleneck in large-scale data centers. In this paper, we propose an architecture which can be appended on an arbitrary tree-based topology agilely, to improve the performance of data centers. In the architecture, a tree is divided into many In-domains, and the third layer of every In-domain is connected by the In-domain interconnected nodes. The number of average hops and end-to-end delay are cut down by this agile, scalable and cost-effective In-domain interconnected architecture, effectively, and additional fault-tolerant paths are provided. The simulations show that this architecture has a better performance than fat tree and other similar architectures.
