Abstract

With the increasing number of mobile users, there has been a demand for a unified solution not only for authenticating, authorizing and providing content to mobile users but also for selecting an ISP (Internet service provider) or a content provider. Rather than using different solutions for different deployment scenarios, we propose the use of PANA (protocol for carrying authentication for network access) as a generic mechanism for authentication, authorization and network selection that works across different access networks.
