Abstract
In the logistics sector, commercial incentives and homeland security measures are creating a growing demand for solutions that monitor the status of containers as they are passed on through a transport chain. In this paper, we analyse the security requirements of this particular application and propose a lightweight protocol for transmitting sensitive information gathered from sensors in the container to a trusted third party that controls access to this information. We also report on initial results from implementing the protocol on a sensor node.
