Abstract

By constraining the output rate of mobile hosts in a cell via DiffServ configuration mechanisms, it is possible to keep 802.11 networks in a non-saturation state. We present a policy-based management solution for video streaming service provisioning and the system evaluation as a feasible alternative to contribute providing QoS in real time services in wireless environments. A prototype intended for proof of concept has been evaluated in a simulated WLAN making use of real video applications.
