Abstract

Over the years, the usefulness of wireless mobile ad hoc networks has been well documented. In the recent times, a lot of effort has gone into the study of the integration of mobile ad hoc networks and the Internet. This paper discusses the challenges of connecting mobile ad hoc networks to the Internet. Next, it reviews the characteristics of ten proposed solutions with their relative merits and de-merits in the light of a few specific parameters. It concludes with a discussion on the suitability of the solutions under different scenarios
