Traffic Model of Chinese HTTP Pages

Abstract

HTTP pages designed in Chinese are more complex than western HTTP pages. The network behaves when transmitting Chinese pages differently from when transmitting western pages. In order to analyze the characteristics of Chinese HTTP pages, we have developed a model of Chinese HTTP pages. We have analyzed the size of embedded objects, the number of embedded objects and the active off time of each object. We found the number and the size of embedded HTTP objects are accord with Pareto distribution, with shape parameter 0.5,1.6 and scale parameter 5, 21k, the active off time of each object accord with Weibull distribution with shape parameter 0.4200 and scale parameter 0.0740. The model can describe HTTP flow and then can be used in simulation studies.
