Using e-SCRIPTS, a Web 2.0 based bidding and reviewing process, ICST Transactions represent a trusted alternative to the traditional way for reviewing, presenting, and disseminating scientific results. By combining web interactivity with the latest research on peer-review publications, e-SCRIPTS leads to an objective and unbiased selection of the best reviewers available, significantly reduces the timeframe of the scientific publication life cycle and accelerates the transformation of abstract research ideas into practical applications.

In addition to standard indexing, ICST Transactions provide authors with a mechanism to maximize their personal impact in their field, by providing authors with detailed and measurable feedback on the community’s response to their publications in the form of downloading and bidding statistics. Reflecting ICST’s philosophy of making its members true partners in the benefits of the society activities, ICST Transactions entail no publication or membership fees and by being part of the ICST Science Rewards Program, authors share revenues from the dissemination of their scientific work.

1.Accelerated Publishing Lifecycle By providing a mechanism for reviewer initiated evaluation process, e-SCRIPTS revolutionizes and accelerates the research dissemination and innovation cycle. By protecting articles through the fast publication and monitored registration of readers and reviewers, e-SCRIPTS encourages the early and open exchange of research ideas and the creation of an effective channel for the transfer of theoretical results to practical, industry, and business oriented applications; thus maximizing authors’ impact, ranking and visibility.

2.Community Enforced Objectivity The operating principles of e-SCRIPTS directly align with one of ICST's main missions in terms of fully involving and empowering the scientific community in directly defining scientific excellence without the control of rigid structures, such as elected or appointed intermediary organs or committees. In e-SCRIPTS, the submission, review and evaluation processes evolve autonomously based on objective scientific merit criteria with Editorial Boards responsible for strategy, scope and quality control. Reviewers in the system are ranked by the scientific community according to a comprehensive set of evaluation criteria leading to the highest available quality of reviews. Community members bid for the right to review the full papers of openly published abstracts and bidders with the maximum matching interests and highest professional qualifications are selected.

3.Protection and Expanded Exposure By protecting published results through a combination of fast publication and monitored registration of both reviewers and readers, e-SCRIPTS encourages the early and open exchange of research ideas. Through the wide dissemination of abstracts and the controlled access of only the selected reviewers to the corresponding full papers, authors achieve a substantially wider scale of exposure without compensating on the protection of their intellectual property.

4.Royalty Based Incentive System for True Society Partnership ICST Publications, including the ICST Transactions journal series, are integrated into the Science Rewards Program that rewards participation in Society activities and provide authors royalties based on the number of registered downloads of their papers from ICST's own digital library. Under the framework of the Science Rewards Program, society members contributing to the publishing process - authors, reviewers, editors, etc. - receive reward points, which can be used to access alternative ICST publications or participate at ICST sponsored events.
